For starters, the Cuisinart CPT-440 features extra wide slots – measuring 1.5″ across. This means your crumpets will fit comfortably inside, and you don't have to worry about wrestling them out of the toaster. The CUSINAID 4 Slice Toaster shares a few features with our top choice. It's got four extra wide slots, ensuring that you can easily fit and toast multiple crumpets at once.
My biggest grievance with this toaster is that it is missing a bagel option. That means your crumpets are going to be evenly toasted on both sides. Some people like their crumpets like this, and if that's you, then you may love this toaster! I'm picky with my crumpets though, and that's what cost the CUSINAID the number one spot. The precise temperature dials certainly helped, but it didn't quite cut it for me.
All that said, this toaster still has some great features that are worth mentioning. For one, it comes in several color and style options. This is great if you're looking for a toaster that matches your other kitchen appliances. It also has slide-out trays on the bottom, which catch all your crumbs for easy cleaning.

If you're looking for a top-tier toaster, the Breville 4-Slice Smart Toaster is it. Everything is trending towards smart technology nowadays – why not your toaster, too?
Similar to the Cuisinart, the Breville toaster has automatic lowering and lifting functions so you don't have to use an old-fashioned lever. On top, you'll find four extra wide slots for crumpets and anything else you may want to toast.
My biggest complaint with this toaster is that it doesn't get my crumpets as crispy and toasted as I would like – even with the bagel function activated. However, it features a “Lift & Look” button, which quickly lifts the crumpet out of the toaster so you can see how toasted it is. Then, it will lower the crumpet back into the toaster to resume toasting, all without turning off the heat. This is a great function if you're worried about over-toasting your food, and it has certainly helped me monitor my crumpets for a perfect toasting.

Budget Option: Chefman 2 Slice Toaster
The Chefman 2 Slice Toaster is a solid toaster for the price. If you're looking for a toaster that can properly toast crumpets without a hefty price tag, this is our recommendation.
Like other toasters we've discussed, the Chefman has extra wide slots and a bagel option to ensure that your crumpet will fit nicely in the toaster and receive a complete toasting. However, in order to get a toaster at this price point, you're going to lose features like automatic raising and lowering and extra slots for toasting multiple items at once.
I missed the bells and whistles of the Breville toaster when I was testing out the Chefman, but I was still pleased with the crumpets that it toasted. This may be your best bet if you don't plan on toasting regularly.
